Parks and rec position first opened in March and closed on April 6, but only 16 applicants met all the qualifications. Now the position will be reopened.

Augusta Transit was one of seven Georgia-based grant recipients among 148 projects throughout the nation receiving a total of $1.8 billion.
The grant will allow the city to contract a consulting team to plan and design a new “state of the art” transfer facility.
Goals are to enhance safety through structural redesign, layout and wayfinding, plus accommodate clean energy vehicles and charging infrastructure.
