Here’s how shoppers can help the Children’s Hospital of Georgia
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - This month, you’ll be able to make a difference in the lives of kids at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia.
Customers shopping at Walmart and Sam’s Club will be asked to donate to the Children’s Miracle Network when they check out.
Every dollar donated will go right back to the local hospital.
Children’s Hospital is a not-for-profit, so any kind of help goes a long way.
The Children’s Hospital of Georgia has been a member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 1986.

With the Fourth of July approaching fast, firework displays are stocked and people are flocking to get ready for festivities.

”We depend on the of the community and those fundraising dollars. Whether it’s programmatic needs, equipment, summer camps our Child Life puts on, maybe our NICU needs a new giraffe bed. Any number of things our hospital needs, that’s where those fundraising dollars come in and make a difference,” said Kelsey McCullough, senior Children’s Miracle Network philanthropy coordinator.
The employees work to raise as much as they can throughout the campaign.
Rochelle Floyd, member service specialty manager at Sam’s Club, said: “We do fundraisers at the gas station. We set up drinks and snacks for our . In club, we do cookouts, we sell ducks, we have a snack table up front.”
For Sonya Clayton, this fundraiser hits close to home.
Her nephew had to spend time at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia when he was 3 years old.
It’s a place she says she didn’t know anything about until her family needed it.
“It was obviously very scary to deal with something that happens to your child, and you want
the best care that you possibly can,” said Clayton.
Here’s where you can celebrate July 4th in the CSRA
Despite the hot weather expected on July 4th, celebration events will continue this week throughout the CSRA.

Clayton says you’re impacted by this hospital whether you have a kid or know a kid.
“A lot of the fundraising we do here is from our , so it’s them truly giving back to their own community and helping out themselves which is amazing,” she said.
Floyd said: “It brings me joy to help others and knowing that the kids are our future.”
Ultimately, you’re helping kids like Coale, who has brittle bone disease.
He was born with 12 broken bones and continues to receive care at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia.
“Thank you for your of the Children’s Hospital of Georgia and I got to thank everyone for donating,” said Coale.
38 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations in the Augusta and Savannah areas take part in this campaign throughout July.
Last year alone, more than $300,000 was raised through this annual campaign.
