1 injured in shooting on May Street in Johnston

JOHNSTON, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - On Friday night, the CSRA saw its second shooting of the Fourth of July weekend.

One person was injured in a shooting on May Street in Johnston, according to authorities.

The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office says the call came in at 9:40 p.m.

S.C. man dies after setting off fireworks on top of his head

The Dorchester County Coroner’s Office said Allen Ray McGrew, 41, died after igniting a “large firework device” and setting in on top of his head.

This shooting follows an Augusta Mall shooting on Thursday afternoon that injured one person.

The shootings are among a rash of shootings that injured dozens of victims across the country on July Fourth.
