Family gets special surprise at GreenJackets game

Barnwell Ponytails sell watermelons ahead of Dixie World Series trip
In an effort to raise money for their trip, the Ponytails are going around Barnwell selling watermelons and team hats.

For families who have parents, brothers, sisters or anyone they care about serving in the military, moments like this always tug at the heartstrings.
Major Daniel Jansen is serving with the First Security Force Assistance Brigade out of Fort Moore in Georgia.
They’re currently stationed in Bogota, Columbia, but he found a way to fly to Augusta and surprise his family.

Jansen’s daughter is in town to play in a youth softball tournament, and before she has a chance to throw out her ceremonial first pitch, her dad comes out of the dugout sharing this unbelievably special moment with his family on the diamond at SRP Park.
“To actually pull it off and surprise them and come out of the dugout and see my daughter run to the baseline and grab me was, as you can tell now, it was very emotional. It was exciting. It was great to see my family out there and all the kids come and do that, not just one was really special. All the thanks to the GreenJackets organization for allowing us to the this and ing us and ing the military for America’s game,” said Jansen.
