Columbia County man charged with child sexual exploitation

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A 43-year-old man is facing sexual exploitation of children charges after an October 2023 incident, according to warrants from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
Michael Alexander James was arrested on Wednesday. He is charged with four counts of felony sexual exploitation of children.
According to the state warrant, James was in possession of a collage of images of children in sexual matter.
Another warrant states James allegedly distributed an image of children via a peer-to-peer program.
The videos of multiple children engaged in sexually explicit conduct were distributed via an IP address within Columbia County, the warrant states.
He was booked into the Columbia County Detention Center. His bond was denied, according to inmate bookings.
