Man struck by Fourth of July gunfire in Waynesboro, cops say
WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - We are now learning details about a shooting on the Fourth of July that left one person injured in Waynesboro, according to authorities.
On Thursday, July 4, at approximately 10:25 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of South Liberty about a shooting.

The victim told officers he was at his residence in the 500 block of Victory Drive, shooting fireworks in his backyard.
He stated was on his back patio and heard a loud noise, assuming it was another firework, until he started feeling a sharp pain in his left shoulder, officials say.

Hospital staff stated it appeared to be a .22 caliber and was lodged underneath the arm, according to the report.
