AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - High school students are going to be seeing some big changes to the ACT.
Augusta book bus aims to drive a lifelong love of reading
Bayvale Elementary got a gift of a vehicle that's being converted to a book bus. The goal is to promote literacy by bringing books directly to the community.

The head of the ACT says starting next spring, the test will be shorter - down from about 3 hours to 2.
Also, the ‘science’ section will be optional.
The cost of taking the test will also be reduced.
New assistant superintendent selected in Richmond County
Dr. David Hall has 33 years of experience as a teacher and and will be the assistant superintendent of high school istrative services.

The changes will give students more time to answer each question and let them focus on their strengths and abilities.
The decision to update the ACT comes after the SAT was shortened and went fully digital earlier this year.
