Body found in Savannah River sent to GBI lab for autopsy
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A body found in the Savannah River early Friday morning was sent to the GBI lab for an autopsy, according to Richmond County Coroner, Mark Bowen.
The Richmond County Coroner, Mark Bowen, confirms he was called to the scene at 8:18 a.m. to the 600 block of Riverfront Drive after a body was found in the river.
A fisherman located the body and called 911, officials say.
Suspect arrested in Augusta slaying outside Dollar General
Tamiko Shynese Bolton, 36, is arrested in the June 15 murder of Elias Jkhael Delk along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

The body was sent to the GBI lab for an autopsy, according to Bowen.
Due to the condition of the body, a positive ID will have to be made, Bowen says. No further information at this time.
We were on the scene with deputies and Coroner Bowen at 8:20 a.m.
The scene was cleared around 8:50 a.m.
