What drivers need to know about 15th Street construction project
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - In the coming weeks, drivers can expect traffic changes as crews begin to work on the 15th Street construction project.
Delta, Augusta’s main carrier, investigated for response to tech meltdown
Delta Air Lines, Augusta Regional Airport’s main carrier, struggled for a fourth straight day to recover from a worldwide technology outage caused by a faulty software update.

Last week, the contractor began installing the topcoat of asphalt.
The lane configuration will shift multiple times as crews ensure the entire project receives a fresh topcoat. The project will widen the road from two lanes to four lanes.
The road will remain open to traffic in both directions.

Other construction items include concrete medians, signage and pavement markings.
The Georgia Department of Transportation expects the project to be complete by October if the weather cooperates.
Overall, the project runs from Milledgeville Road to Government Road in Augusta.
Drivers are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, stay alert, and watch for workers.
