Crews in Aiken County dealing with surge in structure fires
AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Crews have been busy over the past two weeks fighting several fires across Aiken County, the most recent on Tuesday night.
Fallen tree knocks out power, city internet in Wilkes County
Crews worked to restore a city internet and power outage after a large tree fell on powerlines in Wilkes County.

Aiken
The American Red Cross disaster-trained volunteers are assisting a family whose home, located on Hillview Circle in Aiken, was damaged by a fire Tuesday night.
The Red Cross is helping four people by providing financial assistance for immediate needs such as food, clothing, and shelter, along with referrals to much needed resources.
Early Tuesday morning, crews responded to a trailer fire at 3:15 a.m. in the 100 block of Tomahawk Drive, according to dispatch.
Aiken County dispatch says no one was injured and no surrounding buildings were damaged.
The fire was contained around 3:45 a.m., dispatch says, and the scene was cleared at 5:09 a.m.
Eureka, Center, Sage Mill and Monetta Volunteer fire departments all responded to the scene.

Graniteville-Vaucluse-Warrenville fire crews responded to the scene of a fully involved structure fire on Railroad Street at 12:09 p.m. on Wednesday, dispatch says.
Fire officials confirm no human factors contributed to the fire and no other buildings were involved.
There were no reports of injuries, however, powerlines were in danger of catching on fire, according to dispatch.
The building was vacant, according to fire officials.
Crews were still on scene as of 12:13 p.m. and Dominion Energy was on the way, dispatch says.
Aiken Public Safety, Belvedere Fire Department, Center Fire Department, County Line Fire Department, Langley Fire Department, and Sage Mill Fire Department all responded to the fire, according to the report.
Once the fire was contained, an investigator was requested from the sheriff’s office, officials say.
The scene was cleared around 1:30 p.m., according to officials.

The structure on Edgefield Road caught fire after lightning struck a tree and then entered the building, authorities say.
Crews responded to a business fire at St. Joseph Hospice on Edgefield Road on Monday night.
According to officials, the North Augusta Department of Public Safety was requested to provide mutual aid to a structure fire by the Belvedere Volunteer Fire Department.
GVW Fire Department crews also responded.
New details on semi-truck fire incident on I-20
Augusta Fire Department officials have released details on the semi-truck fire on I-20, in a report on Friday.

Officials with the North Augusta Department of Public Safety say they responded with a tanker and an engine to assist.
A News 12 crew on the scene says around 10:37 p.m., crews were starting to pack up.
Public safety officers responded to a structure fire on Melody Lane and Hutchinson Drive, officials say.

Crews were able to quickly get water on the fire and contain it mainly to the rear of the house.
Midland Valley Fire Department assisted North Augusta Department of Public Safety.
Public Safety officers also say they responded to a structure fire on East Avenue.
The first units arrived to find an involved structure fire, officials say.
Due to the rapid actions by all the fire was quickly brought under control, and much of the property was able to be saved, according to officials.
Both Midland Valley Fire Department and Beech Island Fire Rescue responded to assist.
