AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A 39-year-old male is charged with aggravated assault after an early June shooting incident in Augusta.

The suspect, Mark Quinon Watson, was booked on Tuesday and is also charged with possession of a firearm.

Man arrested after human trafficking victim runs into Grovetown Police Department

After a human trafficking victim frantically entered Grovetown Police Department on Thursday, investigators have arrested a man accused of keeping her for months across the state, according to authorities.

Deputies responded to a call on June 6, at 2631 Wrightsboro Road, Circle K, for an assault in the parking lot.

The witness stated that while working her shift, a woman came into the store and bought power steering fluid so her male friend could put it inside her vehicle.

According to the report, while the pair worked on the car, a black Chevrolet Impala pulled up.

Watson is accused of exiting the vehicle and firing multiple shots toward them. The report states he then drove off, according to the witness.

A Beech Island man accused of criminal sexual conduct and exploitation with a minor in 2023 has been arrested on Tuesday, according to jail records.

The 45-year-old victim was then helped into the car and taken to the hospital, officials say.

Deputies met the victim at the hospital, where they learned information on the suspect.

The report states deputies were able to view footage of this incident.

According to the police report, deputies searched the immediate area for shell casings but were unable to locate any evidence of shots fired.
