Augusta Boxing Club gives nearly 500 book bags to students

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Nearly 500 students received book bags during the 6th annual “Knock out the Need” drive at the Augusta Boxing Club over the weekend.

The Mike Hostilo Law Firm partnered with the Augusta Boxing Club for its 6th annual drive on Saturday.

Back-to-school drives make the difference for Augusta families

More than 1,000 people came out to the Hub for Community Innovation for free supplies and resources ahead of the start of school.

The need was there, as students picked up nearly 500 book bags.

Rayonta Whitfield, Director of Augusta Boxing Club, says, “We just want to give back and let the parents know that there are organizations out there that help the kids and we stand strong for the kids in our community.”

Whitfield said there was a 50th-anniversary boxing match as well.
