Man arrested 6 years after child molestation case in Waynesboro
WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A suspect has been arrested six years after being accused of child molestation in Waynesboro and Wrens, according to authorities.
The warrant was executed on July 28, 2024, six years after a witness reported knowledge of a child molestation incident back in Dec. 2018.
According to the witness, Freddie Lee Brown, 62, of Keysville, did commit aggravated child molestation with a minor under the age of 16 years old.

In Nov. 2018 Waynesboro police officers responded to a home on Davis Road about a child molestation case.
According to the the warrant, the incident occurred on Lovers Lane, between Oct. and Nov. 2018.
Brown was already on probation when the alleged molestation happened for other criminal charges, court documents state.
During the incident, Brown is accused of having committed a criminal sexual act to a child.
Evans ex-teacher pleads guilty over communication with child
An ex-Evans Middle School teacher who’d been relieved of duties after allegations of an inappropriate conversation with a student has pleaded guilty.

Brown was arrested on July 28, and charged with three counts of child molestation, one count of aggravated child molestation, probation violation, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and forgery in the fourth degree, according to jail records.
Burke County jail records also state he is being held for safekeeping for Jefferson County on other felony charges.
This hold stems from a child molestation investigation that investigators say happened with the city limits of Wrens during the years of 2014-2016. The incident report states this was based on a complaint by the same victims of the incident that occurred in Waynesboro.
Officials say Brown was allegedly the ex-boyfriend of the victim’s mother and they had been dating for around five years.
If convicted, he could face at least 25 years behind bars and the rest of his life on probation just for the aggravated child molestation charge.
Brown who also goes by the street name “Boogie” has a criminal history that dates back to an indictment for starting a riot at the Burke County Jail in November 1996, according to court documents.
Other charges from court documents include:
- Aggravated battery in May 2005 for “seriously disfiguring” a member of the victim’s body by striking them in the face. Brown was sentenced to 10 years, five behind bars and five on probation.
- Simple battery in December 2006 in which Brown caused intentional harm to a 13-year-old.
- Two separate burglary convictions, one in 2000 and a felony theft charge for receiving stolen property in 2011. For the 2011 charge, he was sentenced to 10 years, four behind bars and six on probation.
