FIRST ALERT | Dangerous heat returns Friday. Isolated severe storms possible again Friday and Saturday.
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - FIRST ALERT ISSUED FRIDAY. Dangerous heat and humidity expected. We will also have the risk for isolated severe weather. Stay hydrated, cool, and weather aware the next few days!

Hotter than average temperatures are expected again Friday with highs in the mid-90s and feel like temperatures near 110°. Isolated severe storms will be possible in the afternoon and evening. Storms will be moving in from the north and drop south through the region. Main concern with storms is strong wind gusts and frequent lightning.
A cold front will approach the region this weekend and increase storm chances. Scattered storms are expected Saturday and Sunday afternoon. With higher rain chances, highs should be slightly cooler in the low 90s. Isolated severe weather will remain possible Saturday.
We are monitoring a disturbance in the Atlantic that could turn into our next named storm later this weekend into next week. This system should be in the Gulf of Mexico Sunday. While confidence is very slowly increasing that the system could eventually have some degree of impact on the CSRA, it is highly uncertain exactly what those impacts would be, when they would occur, and what areas would be impacted. Keep it here for the latest updates!
