AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Drivers should expect traffic delays on Whiskey Road in Aiken starting Monday.

The delays are a part of a paving project by the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

The paving work is set to begin at 9 a.m. on Monday and will continue for “an unspecified duration.”

With more school buses on the roads, here’s what drivers should know

With back-to-school season here – or nearly here – across the CSRA, more cars and school buses will hit the road. Do you know all the appropriate laws?

The Aiken Engineering and Utilities Department says the delays will be on southbound Whiskey Road starting north of South Boundary Avenue.

Crews say they don’t know how long it will last.

We do have a First Alert weather day in effect and we haven’t gotten word about the paving project being postponed.

Drivers are asked to seek alternative routes and anticipate delays while traveling in the area.
