AU students moving in this week before heading back to school
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - It’s almost back-to-school time for Augusta University students and for the first semester with the new chief.
Next week is the first week of classes.
We spoke with a dental hygiene student who says she is ready for the new year.
“Very excited for all the community-based activities,” said Lilana Robinson. “The reason why I chose it was because the dental hygiene program is the number one dental school in Georgia and just like the class sizes aren’t too big.”
LIST: School closures due to impacts from Tropical Storm Debby
Some school districts are announcing closures ahead of Debby, which will bring the potential for lots of rain across the CSRA, especially in southern and eastern counties.

But students start move in Thursday through Saturday.
On Friday, first-year students will start moving in at Oak and Elm Hall on the Health Sciences Campus. The process starts at 8 a.m. but everyone needs to go through a check in process at the Student Center before moving their belongings into Oak and Elm Hall.
Longtime President Dr. Brooks Keel retired in June, and Dr. Russell Keen, an internal candidate to be his successor, has taken over.
