Suspect arrested in fatal hit-and-run in Orangeburg County
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A 33-year-old has been charged after a hit-and-run that killed one and injured two others while attempting to evade law enforcement in Orangeburg County, authorities announced on Friday.
South Carolina Highway Patrol says on Aug. 8, at 5:13 p.m. they responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Moncks Corner Road and Miracle Drive.
The crash happened while a suspect was attempting to evade law enforcement, authorities say.

Orangeburg County saw a second fatal crash in two days, with the latest one happening about 7 miles north of Bowman.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 2000 Honda sedan, was traveling east on Miracle Drive when the suspect fleeing south on Monks Corner Road crashed into them, authorities say.
The driver of the Honda was killed in the accident, and the enger was transported to a local hospital, according to authorities.

The suspect, Davontae Jenkins, fled the scene on foot but was later apprehended. Jenkins’ enger was transported to a local hospital, officers say.
Jenkins was transported to Orangeburg County Detention Center and charged with hit-and-run that resulted in a death, according to authorities.
