Deputies dodge bullets in pursuit of domestic violence suspect

HARLEM, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A Columbia County man is facing several charges after deputies say he fired multiple shots from his vehicle in Harlem.

According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday late in the afternoon, deputies were called to 1157 Rolland Road in reference to a physical domestic incident.

Deputies say when they arrived they saw Bradley Keith Gooding leaving the scene in a red 1990 Acura.

A Georgia State Patrol corporal is on istrative leave after his arrest in connection with a domestic violence incident, according to authorities. His wife wars arrested, as well.

The report says deputies tried to catch up with the on Old Louisville Road at Harlem Grovetown Road when Bradley began shooting from his vehicle.

The sheriff’s office says Bradley continued driving on Old Louisville Road until he reached the intersection of Jamie Drive, leaving the roadway and crashing his car.

When deputies reached Bradley, he appeared to be suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, deputies say.

Suspect sought after shooting injures 2 in Washington County

Washington County deputies are investigating a shooting that left two people injured. Officials say the shooting happened at Cornbreads Club in the 700 block of Matthews Road.

According to deputies, Bradley was taken to a local Augusta hospital and is in the intensive-care unit.

He is charged with battery and family violence, aggravated assault with no bond, felony fleeing, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane.

The sheriff’s office says no Columbia County deputies were injured in this incident
