Student caught with weapon during Cross Creek High fight

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Two Augusta students have been caught with knives this week, a few days after a gun was confiscated at Butler High School.

A student also had a weapon during a fight at Cross Creek High School.

The incidents come after a school year when a gun was found on a Richmond County campus nearly every month.

The latest incident happened on Wednesday. According to a letter sent home to families, several students were involved in a fight in the parking lot. School staff and school system police responded and sent the students home.

It comes after a similar incident Monday at Murphey Middle School, according to a letter to parents.
