Heritage Academy welcomes students with red carpet
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Wednesday was the first day of classes for Heritage Academy in Augusta, and staff rolled out the red carpet.
Students were celebrated as they arrived with music, balloons, and of course, the red carpet walkway.
Local nonprofit gives baby formula to parents in need
The Augusta Partnership for Children says that every Wednesday in August, they’ll give away baby formula to those in need.
Parents, pastors, local businessmen and other role models were all cheering on the student body as they arrived.
“It’s the way we welcome our students into the kindergarten through eighth-grade building. As you can see, people from all over the community come and they really look forward to it. Yesterday, we had the Marshal’s Office stop by and say, ‘What time is it? Because we don’t want our guys to forget.’ It’s something that’s important and is on everyone’s calendar. We are so grateful for the community and turnout every year,” said Executive Director Tana Watson.
