3 die in fiery crash on Deans Bridge Road while fleeing police
BLYTHE, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Three people died in a car crash on Deans Bridge Road when a car slammed into a truck head-on and burst into flames while fleeing police.
It was one of four fatal traffic accidents that claimed six lives in three days across the CSRA.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says the Deans Bridge crash happened at 7:53 p.m. Friday after a Blythe police officer tried to pull over a speeding car.

As the vehicle approached the Bath Edie Road intersection, it went into the southbound lanes but was still traveling north, according to the Georgia State Patrol. The Blythe officer did not pursue the vehicle on the wrong side of the roadway.
After traveling north for about a mile, the car struck a southbound truck head-on just north of the Etterle Road intersection.
The Sable burst into flames.
Three occupants of the Sable were killed, according to authorities.
Positive identification will be made after an autopsy is conducted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab, according to GSP.
The occupants of the other vehicle were transported to a hospital.
