Students continue at Langford awaiting new Belair Middle School
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Students continue at Langford Middle School while waiting for construction of the new Belair Middle to be completed in Richmond County.
Students were expected to attend the new school this school year.
But the Building Program Director Jeff Baker said in an update last month the school is targeting for an opening date of Oct. 1.
“School is in good shape. It’s an empty school and the middle school is ready to receive a middle school. The entire school, istration, staff and all of the students go to that school together,” he said.
Students report to new Westmont Elementary School after delays
After several construction delays at the new Westmont Elementary, students and staff are starting the week off with a fresh start Monday morning.
The project includes 12 more classrooms to make room for 1,000 students.
Right now, those students are learning at the old Langford Middle School.
