Suspect sought in Augusta home invasion, armed robbery
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A suspect is wanted in connection with a home invasion and armed robbery in Augusta, authorities announced on Monday.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says James Trimble III, 44, is wanted for a home invasion and armed robbery that occurred in the 1800 block of Fayetteville Drive on Aug. 18.
Deputies say they were notified before arriving that the suspect had kicked the door into the apartment, and began assaulting a victim inside the home.
When deputies arrived, they said the apartment had been ransacked and destroyed, along with a significant amount of flooding throughout the apartment.
When deputies were able to locate and find the victims who left for safety after the incident, one of the victims told authorities he recognized the suspect as Trimble, authorities say.
Suspect wanted in connection to Augusta aggravated assault
Deputies are searching for an aggravated assault suspect in Augusta, authorities announced on Monday.

The victim stated he was sleeping when he got up to use the restroom and found Trimble inside the apartment with a gun.
Trimble began demanding the victim that he “empty his pockets” and give him everything he had while pointing the weapon at him, the victim told authorities.
Deputies say nearly $1,500 was stolen in household items including televisions, phones and other electronics.
Other items that were damaged were estimated around $1,500 as well, according to authorities.
Georgia sheriff’s deputy killed in Paulding County shooting
Deputy Brandon Cunningham, 30, died of his injuries after he was shot while responding to a domestic dispute Saturday evening, the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office said.

Trimble may be traveling in a red Nissan SUV, authorities say.
Authorities describe him as being five feet and six inches in height and weighing around 165 pounds.
He should be considered armed and dangerous.
