Batesburg man accused in assault that went on for 9 hours
LEXINGTON, S.C. (WIS) - A Batesburg man was arrested Friday after allegedly trying to kill a person.
The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department said 29-year-old Jerry Hall Jr. was arrested and charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, assault and battery in the third degree, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person convicted of certain crimes.

A 30-year-old man has been charged after the ongoing abuse and death of a child, according to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division

Deputies said witnesses told them Hall had been assaulting a person over the course of nine hours at a house on Bayonet Road. Deputies responded to the scene after a neighbor called 911.
Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said in a news release, “investigators determined Hall punched the victim, kicked them with his steel-toed boots and restricted their airway to the point of unconsciousness.”

Deputies also said Hall threatened to kill witnesses after they entered the house.
Hall was found on the 100 block of Buggy Road on Friday and taken to the Lexington County Detention Center.
A magistrate judge has denied his bond.
