JOHNSTON, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - One person died Friday when a car and tractor collided south of Johnston.

The deceased man was identified as Eduardo Hernandez Ortega, 29, of Ridge Spring, according to the Edgefield County Coroner’s Office.

The car and tractor collided around 3:42 p.m. on Highway 191 at Derrick Road, according to authorities.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says two people are dead after a van collided head-on with a car Saturday morning, and another person died in a single-car Orangeburg County accident.

A Cadillac SUV and a tractor were both traveling north on Highway 191 when they were involved in the crash, according to officials.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the tractor was turning into a private drive when the Cadillac tried to , hitting the tractor.

Ortega, who was driving the tractor, was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:05 p.m. according to authorities.

Officials say the Cadillac had two engers who were both injured and transported by EMS to a hospital.

The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
