GIBSON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Two students at Glascock County Consolidated Schools were charged with terroristic threats and acts, according to authorities.

On Tuesday, the Glascock County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Glascock County Consolidated School istration, investigated a potential threat reported to the school.

The sheriff’s office says the student in question was removed from class and interviews were conducted by school officials and deputies.

During the interviews, deputies determined that there was sufficient probable cause, leading to the student’s arrest.

The student has been charged with terroristic threats and acts and transported to the McDuffie County Law Enforcement Center.

Since the incident, school resource officers at Apalachee have been praised for their response to the shooting. Here at home, some parents are expressing concerns if their child’s school is equipped if something happens.

Deputies also say on Thursday, the Glascock County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible threat made by a juvenile high school student.

After the school system completed its own investigation, the sheriff’s office conducted a review of the student’s statement and history.

Based on the review, the decision was made to the Department of Juvenile Justice and proceed with charges of terroristic threats and acts against the juvenile.

The sheriff’s office did confirm that the school system uses a security device called Centegix — the same device used to warn law enforcement of an active shooter at Apalachee High School School last week.
