AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Dry weather can be expected through midweek, but it looks like Francine, now in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico, will bring extra moisture to the region later this week and a good chance of rain Thursday, Friday, and possibly into this weekend.

Clouds are on the increase this evening as lows bottom out in the low to mid 60s for most locations. Overcast skies expected Wednesday ahead of the next chance of rain Thursday. Wednesday will start off cool with afternoon highs much warmer in the middle 80s.

Francine will push moisture into the southeastern U.S. bringing our next chance of rain toward the end of the week and weekend. There is a low level marginal risk (1/5) Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for flash flooding. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible. Keep it here for updates throughout the week!
