Daily forecast | From First Alert Meteorologist Tim Strong
A hot and dry start to fall. Tropical system could bring rain to the CSRA toward end of the week.
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - High pressure will be in firm control of weather across Georgia and South Carolina for the next few days. Temperatures will be well above average this afternoon highs soaring into the low 90s through midweek. An isolated afternoon shower or thundershower cannot be ruled out each day, but rain chances will be very low through midweek.
The area of high pressure shifts offshore by midweek which will allow a cool front to move into our region Thursday into Friday. We are also watching for possible tropical development in the Gulf of Mexico in the next few days that could move toward the Gulf Coast toward the end of the week. How strong that system gets, along with how it interacts with the approaching cool front will determine the path of that system and the amount of rain we receive.
There is still plenty of uncertainty regarding the forecast for Thursday through the weekend, so be sure to check the forecast frequently if you have outdoor activities planned during that time.
