Here’s where you can donate, volunteer in the CSRA

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Amid Hurricane Helene cleanup across the CSRA, community are coming together to help others.

So many lives have been affected by the hurricane, many people are stepping up to help their neighbors in need.

Here’s a list of places you can donate or volunteer:

Augusta

  • Any persons, civic organizations, or businesses interested in serving as volunteers or providing donations to help storm relief efforts for Hurricane Helene, may do so by ing at https://forms.augustaga.gov/Forms/helenevolunteer. For questions or concerns, 706-821-2300.
  • If you are looking to drop donations the Trinity on the Hill distributions are in need of: Spaghetti/Sauce, PBJ supplies, canned meats, canned veggies, formula, wipes, baby food/cereal, Diapers and Pull-ups (All sizes), snacks (chips, crackers, granola), cereal, cleaning supplies, bread and fruit. If you’d like to volunteer, us from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help load supplies, pack bags, out bags, remove trash and more.

Other efforts

  • News 12 is partnering with different organizations to take pet food donations. Here’s where you can learn more about donating.
  • The American Red Cross of Georgia is issuing an urgent appeal for volunteers who are willing to emergency shelters here at home and across the country this fall for major national disaster relief efforts. Interested volunteers are urged to sign up today at redcross.org/volunteer. All candidates must complete necessary training and be able to commit to a two-week deployment. Applicants who don’t have disaster experience, but have supervision, management or organization skills; a strong desire to help others; and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, are encouraged to apply.
  • The Golden Harvest provides update on community help to help distribute food and water across 24 counties. Meet at the Augusta warehouse located at 3310 Commerce Drive Augusta.
  • Starting Tuesday at 10 a.m., Columbia County government will be accepting donations of essential items for Columbia County residents in need at The Market, 1000 Market Street in Evans. Items needed: bottled water, non-perishable food, diapers and wipes, formula, toiletries, paper goods and pet food. It is drop off only. Drop off happens daily from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
  • Calling all volunteers. in ing Columbia County residents affected by the hurricane. Your time and resources can make a real difference in our community. If you’re interested in helping out, please call 706-312-7293.
  • Columbia County has contracted Ceres (debris management) and DebrisTech (debris monitoring) to assist Columbia County residents with debris removal from Hurricane Helene. DebrisTech is looking for Debris Monitors in Columbia County. Hiring and Training will be held in-person: 500 Faircloth Drive, Building E, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily until filled.
  • Walmart, Sam’s Club and the Walmart Foundation are committing up to $6 million in of hurricane relief efforts, including donations of food, water, essential supplies and grants to organizations providing relief. As part of this commitment, Walmart will help magnify their impact by matching their donations 1:1, up to $2.5 million, when they donate to hurricane relief at the s in stores and clubs and on Walmart.com.
