Authorities respond to nighttime shooting at Orangeburg County Fair
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Orangeburg County Fair Association released a statement regarding a shooting at the fairgrounds Saturday night.
County fair leaders said the shooting happened after they decided to close down the fair early last night, after what the association claims as “multiple incidents involving groups of youth behaving in a disorderly fashion.”
While closing down the fair, multiple law enforcement agencies responded to calls of shots fired in the parking lot and arrested a suspect.
Authorities say one person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The fair will operate at normal hours today, while the shooting remains under investigation.
