Local golfers raise $12K and counting, to help Helene recovery efforts
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Two local PGA Tour golfers have raised $12,000 and counting, to local organizations that are leading Hurricane Helene disaster response and recovery efforts throughout the CSRA.
Luke List and Henrik Norlander, who both live in Augusta have launched the initiative “Birdies for Augusta” to benefit the CSRA Community Foundation and the Red Cross.
“Hurricane Helene brought incredible damage and loss of life to our community,” said List. “While we are in Jackson, Mississippi for the Sanderson Farms Championship, our hearts are in Augusta as the community recovers from this terrible storm.

Golden Harvest provides update on community help
Golden Harvest says they have called in both state and national resources to help assist them in their response.

“To help the local Red Cross as they lead response and recovery efforts back home, we are launching the initiative where we donate $500 for every birdie Henrik and I make during the tournament.”
Over the weekend, the golfers wrapped up their third round over in Jackson, Mississippi for the Sanderson Farms Championship. Through three rounds, Henrik racked up 13 birdies and is currently tired for 48th.
List, who’s also the defending champion over in the magnolia state, currently has 11 birdies on the tournament and he’s currently tied for 48th.
The two have raised $12,000 so far and counting.
“We are calling on our fellow golfers, tour fans, friends, business leaders to us and make a pledge,” said Norlander. “Whether it’s $5, $100, or even $500 a birdie, we can help the local Red Cross and help rebuild Augusta.”
