S.C. schools decide to extend football season post-Helene
In the wake of Hurricane Helene, the South Carolina High School League voted to extend the regular season for high school football and maintain playoffs as scheduled.

“You can always talk about being a state championship, but this is actually the proof, and it kind of set the boys, you know, tone of like, Hey, we are state champions. They will always be called state champions from here on” said Head Coach Justin Crawford.
Lakeside golf has five state championships in golf claiming: 1999, 2006, 2007, 2010 and now 2024.
The Panthers won state with a total team finish of +16 ( 592) four strokes ahead of Roswell. Hamilton Coleman finished as the individual champion at five under par.
“There’s been a lot of anticipation with this, because we’ve been waiting since, you know, we won state last year, but it’s definitely cool. They came out really well,” said Coleman.
