AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - We can look forward to a brief warm-up lasting through today before a strong cold front brings the coolest temperature since back in April to the CSRA for the rest of the work week. The air will remain too dry for any rain to form for at least another week.

Morning lows will be in the middle to upper 40s to start the day Tuesday with afternoon highs only reaching the lower 70s under partly sunny skies.

The chilliest day of the week ahead will be Wednesday, as a secondary front es through delivering another quite breezy day and even colder temperatures to our region. Highs on Wednesday will only reach the lower to middle 60s then dip into the middle to upper 30s by Thursday morning. Winds on Wednesday will be from the north at 15 to 20 mph with 25-30 mph gusts.

Winds decrease by Wednesday night, and with clear skies and lows projected to be in the 30s in most locations, patchy frost is possible Thursday morning.

Sunshine continues Thursday through the weekend with temperatures gradually warming to near average by next weekend.
