AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Due to the impact from Hurricane Helene, the city of Augusta has temporarily suspended recycling collection until further notice.
The storm’s aftermath has resulted in significant debris and cleanup challenges, with many residents inadvertently mixing trash with recyclables due to limited disposal options.
This mixing of materials has made it difficult to properly process recyclable materials.
2 weeks after Helene, what’s the status of storm recovery across CSRA?
It’s been two weeks now since Helene blew through our area and changed life as we know it. 14 days in, and it seems we’re getting better at adapting.

This temporary suspension allows city crews to prioritize clearing roads, restoring power and addressing safety concerns throughout the community.
Residents are asked to hold onto recyclable materials if possible and stay tuned for updates on when recycling services will resume.
