Incident at game spurs soft lockdown at Allendale schools
ALLENDALE, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - After an incident on Friday at a football game in Allendale County, school officials are implementing a soft lockdown protocol throughout this week starting Monday as a precautionary measure.

School officials said in a statement on Oct. 13, that the decision was made out of an abundance of caution. However, to prevent further conflicts and ensure a calm and structured environment, the following measures will be in place.
1. Limited Building Access:
Only designated entrances will be used for entry and exit, and all other doors will remain locked during the school. Visitors are not allowed in the building without a pre-scheduled appointment. There will be no early student sign-outs tomorrow.
2. Increased Supervision:
Additional staff will be monitoring hallways, common areas, and transition times to ensure student safety.
3. Staggered Schedules: To minimize student interaction between different grade levels, we will implement staggered schedules for classroom transitions and lunch periods.
4. Classroom security: Hallway es will be limited to reduce unnecessary student movement.
Thanks for your cooperation as we continue to make safety and security a priority.
Parents, please talk to your children so they understand the importance of following our new rules. We appreciate your cooperation, without it we cannot be successful. We must work together to stop this issue.
During Friday’s game against Allendale-Fairfax versus Ridgeland, Allendale-Fairfax had to forfeit after a violent incident.
