Paine College golf teams to compete in NCCAA National Championship
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Both the Paine College Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams are set to compete in the prestigious National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Championship.
CSRA golf courses continue to recover from Helene
Golf courses around the CSRA were not immune to Helene’s impact, changing the field of play in some cases. We were able to get our News 12 drone over the Patch on Thursday to get a firsthand look at all the damage.
Held at the Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Fla., from Oct. 21-23, the tournament will bring together elite collegiate talent from across the nation in a battle for supremacy.
Interim Head Coach Andre Lacey, a seasoned PG Associate who has reshaped the program, along with Assistant Coach Rashad Wilson, a Certified PGA Class A Associate, whose addition has elevated the team’s potential, will lead the teams at the championship.
“I could not be prouder of our student-athletes. Their hard work and dedication have paid off, and competing in the NCCAA National Championship is a testament to their growth. Both teams are ready to show the world what Paine College Golf is all about,” Andre Lacey.
Lakeside boys golf team receives state champion rings
Lakeside boys golf claimed the top of the podium at the 6A state championship in May. Now, five months later, they now have their rings.
The Women’s Golf Team enters the NCCAA Championship on fire, riding a wave of momentum after a spectacular season. With six event wins, including a victory at the 2024 Women in Golf National Championship.
The Men’s Golf Team has steadily built a reputation as a program on the rise. This season, they have dropped their team scoring average by an impressive six strokes and posted strong performances in key tournaments.
