2 suspects arrested in Grovetown armed home invasion, robbery
GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Two suspects have been arrested in connection to a kidnapping, armed home invasion and robbery in Grovetown, we learned from officials on Tuesday.
On Oct. 13, at 11:57 p.m. officers responded to the 500 block of Butler Springs Court regarding a home invasion and robbery that had occurred.
Police said the victim told them he had been given a ride home from his job, by an acquaintance he knew as “Juanita Mendez” in exchange for money.
18-year-old arrested over video with gun at Grovetown High School
A Grovetown High School student was arrested over a video that showed the teenager holding a gun, apparently in a school restroom.

He stated when they arrived at his home, he invited her inside and then went to his room to put away his pet, officers say.
When the victim turned around, he told police he was shoved back through the door and into the coroner of his room by an unknown man wearing a mask over his face.
According to police, the victim reported that the suspect pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at his head, choked him, and demanded “Where is the money?”
The victim said he told the suspect he had cash and a debit card in his wallet and handed it over.
There was another man, also wearing a black mask and armed with a firearm standing in the doorway to the victim’s bedroom, the victim stated. The woman was ushered out of the residence and drove away.
After taking the money, the two suspects left in a white four-door sedan, officials said.
2 students charged after making threats at Harlem, Lakeside high schools
Two students have been charged after making threats at Lakeside and Harlem high schools on Friday.

The victim told police the home invasion happened within two minutes. His adult daughter was also home at the time, according to the report.
Officers say they spoke with the daughter who stated she was in her room during the incident, and she heard a loud noise so she locked herself in her bedroom.
The victim’s wife who was not home at the time, told officers usually they ride to work together, but he wasn’t supposed to work that day. Instead, he received a ride from a friend he has known since high school, officials said.
During the ride home, the victim texted his wife describing that the champagne-colored older model minivan smelled of marijuana, according to the report.
21-year-old arrested in shooting at Augusta apartments
A 21-year-old man is in custody in connection with a shoot-out that sent a bullet into an apartment with four kids inside, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim set up the ride home through a Facebook post under the name “NiNi Mendez,” according to officials.
After the invasion, the victim had been blocked by “NiNi Mendez” on all forms of social media, he told officers.
Jemiracle Williams, 22, was arrested on Oct. 18 and charged with kidnapping, home invasion with a firearm, possession of a firearm and financial transaction theft, according to jail records.
Juanita Mendez, 24, was arrested on Oct. 18 and charged with home invasion with a weapon, interference with government property, and two counts of willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, according to jail records.
Investigator Lieutenant of Grovetown Police Department William Loomer told us, “We are following leads to identity others involved.”
