White House prepares for potential Russian election interference
WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - There are growing concerns about possible Russian interference in American elections just days ahead of election day.
White House Correspondent Jon Decker asked White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about the possibility of interference by one of America’s most formidable adversaries.
“What’s the level of concern that the istration has about election interference specifically from Russia,” Decker asked.
“I mean, we spoke to that,” Jean-Pierre said. “We made an announcement on what we were seeing from Russia on election interference. We sent a very clear message on that just a couple of weeks ago.”
In September the Biden istration announced criminal charges against two Russian nationals, 10 different sanctions and seized 32 internet domains.
“We will speak loud and clear about that as we did just a couple of weeks ago,” Pierre said. “But we also want Americans to know that to trust the institution. And that’s what the president is going to continue to say.”
U.S. officials, including from the FBI, have previously said Russia wants to undermine American democracy and undermine confidence in the results of the election.
