Grovetown suspect sought in kidnapping, child cruelty, other crimes

GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Grovetown Police Department is seeking the assistance of the public in locating a suspect wanted in connection to a kidnapping and child cruelty incident, officials said Friday.

Police said the suspect Jamier K. Humphries, 19, has multiple felony warrants on file for false imprisonment, kidnapping, battery and cruelty to children that occurred on Oct. 24 on Creekside Drive around 10 p.m.

A 21-year-old has been arrested and accused of raping a woman after forcing his way into her Augusta home, according to arrest warrants.

According to officials, Humphries has brown eyes and hair. He is five feet and seven inches tall and weighs around 180 pounds.

Police say Humphries has connections in Grovetown, Harlem and Columbia County.

He was believed to be last seen in Harlem, police said.
