Election Day: What you need to know as you head to the polls
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Election Day is finally here. This is the last chance to vote in the presidential race and local races in your county on Tuesday.

As you prepare to vote on Tuesday, here’s everything you need to know before heading into the polls.

Voters, the polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
That’s for any of our counties in Georgia and South Carolina.
, it’s against the rules to wear a campaign hat or candidate shirt when you go to vote. Also, You can’t pull out your phone when you’re in front of the voting equipment.
If you are in Richmond County, Augusta Transit will offer free rides to vote.
Election leaders told us they need you to your ID.
That is the most important piece to get you through the process. If you get to the front of the line and don’t have it, you will not be turned away.

We’re getting down to the wire and experts say the high early voting turnout speaks to the urgency people are having regarding policies and the way they want the next four years to shape out.

If you forget your ID today, you have three days to provide one at your local registrar’s office.
Richmond County told us that if you show up at the wrong precinct after 5 p.m., you’ll vote on a provisional ballot there. That way, there’s no risk of you getting to your assigned precinct late.
The election directors for Aiken, Columbia and Richmond County also encourage you to educate yourself about what races you’ll find on your ballot.
Some big races on the ballot include some sheriff races, school board district races, 1% sales tax, penny sales tax and E-SPLOST funds.
They say reviewing a sample ballot is the best way to prepare.

Besides playing a major role in electing the 47th president of the United States, Georgia voters are also being asked to decide on three statewide issues.

Tuesday morning, we went to Stevens Creek Community Church on Stevens Creek Road because Columbia County had to make this a polling site.
Those who are assigned to vote at the Savannah Rapids Pavilion must come here because the popular venue is closed because of storm damage.
There are only a couple of polling site changes for Richmond County. Travis Doss says if you are set to vote at the Building of Worship Center, go to the Boys and Girls Club instead.
Those who normally vote at Belle-Terrance Presbyterian were moved back to the Henry Brigham Community Center.
Overall, just know poll workers will be ready today to take your questions.
