AIKEN, S.C. - Voting machines were out for a few minutes Tuesday morning at one Aiken County voting site as South Carolinians cast ballots in a historic election.
The machines at Schofield Middle School had to be reset and were back up and running in a few minutes.
Another voter reported a similar problem at the Warren Belvedere Church voting site on Edgefield Road, although we haven’t confirmed that.
Polling sites across South Carolina are open until 7 p.m.
Sometimes in cases when technical problems prevent voting at a polling site, that site gets authorization to stay open later.
There’s no word on whether that’s the case at Schofield.
