Jury selection set for former DA charged in Arbery case
BRUNSWICK, Ga. (WTOC) - The Glynn County Superior Court has set a date for jury selection in the Jackie Johnson case.
Jackson is the former Brunswick district attorney. Johnson is charged with meddling in the police investigation of the 2020 killing of Black jogger Ahmaud Arbery.
All parties will meet for a hearing on Dec. 11 at 9 a.m. at the Glynn County Courthouse for the court to hear all outstanding motions and matters prior to the trial.

Jury selection will take place on Jan. 21 at 9 a.m. with the jury trial to follow.
Three white men, including a former police officer, were ultimately charged found guilty in the slaying of Arbery, who has family ties to the CSRA and is buried near Waynesboro.

The case wasn’t prosecuted for weeks, until video of the incident was leaked to the media.
The three men convicted in the case – Greg McMichael, his son Travis McMichael and their former neighbor William “Roddie” Bryan – are trying to get a new trial, using arguments ranging from a tainted jury to ineffective counsel for one of the men.
