2 Columbia County students, teacher selected for advisory council

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Two students and a teacher from Columbia County serve on State School Superintendent’s advisory councils.

New faces to the Richmond County Board of Education speak on plans
Four new Richmond County Board of Education were elected Tuesday as voters also agreed to extend a 1% sales tax for schools.
Students Ava Butler from Grovetown High School and Ella Pascual from Greenbrier High School were accepted out of more than 1,550 applications from across the state.
Teacher of the Year Crystal McDowell will also serve on the State Teacher Advisory Council.
All three will represent CCSD in discussing and providing on education-related issues and completing service projects.
