Driver dies 3 days after car crash in Saluda County
SALUDA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Three days after a car crash in Saluda County, one of the drivers has died, according to Coroner Keith Turner.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the two-vehicle crash occurred on Tuesday around 5:45 a.m. at the intersection of US 178 and Duncan Road, just six miles south of Saluda.
Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol say a 2005 Chevrolet pickup was traveling north on Dunkin Road while a 2010 Jeep was traveling east on US 178.
Troopers say the Jeep struck the pickup truck, causing both vehicles to travel off the left side of the road. The pickup truck struck a ditch, while the Jeep overturned.

One driver was going below 40 mph with a flat, and the other was using a cellphone playing YouTube videos, authorities say. Both are arrested.

The driver of the Jeep was transported by EMS for their injuries, according to troopers.
The driver of the pickup truck was transported to the Lexington Medical Center, where he died on Friday, troopers say.
The coroner identified the driver as Joseph T. Ray, 35, of Saluda.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Saluda County Coroner’s Office are investigating the crash.
