EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Early November marks the non-football g period for senior athletes.

Greenbrier’s Natalie Heckathorn can count herself as one of the thousands g to play soccer at the next level.

Next year, Heckathorn will trade her Wolfpack green for Eagles blue as the senior captain will play for Georgia Southern.

With Division one play in sight, it is the biggest g the girls soccer program has seen.

The NCAA Southeast Region rankings for volleyball are out. Augusta University and University of South Carolina Aiken both made the top 10.

Heckathorn’s family, friends and coaches were there to witness it.

“It’s really crazy to see how many people have loved and ed me for this long. It’s really what’s gotten me this far is all the love and from all these people,” said Heckathorn.

Heckathorn’s Division one potential has been recognized throughout her entire career at greenbrier, and with her club soccer team too.

She became a two-time all region player of the year, and took home the GACA 5A player of the year award this year.

Not to mention she helped lead the pack to a state final two years ago.

Plus a quarterfinal appearance a season ago. Her final season with the Wolfpack will be this spring.
