Lincoln County chases first state title in 18 years

LINCOLNTON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - One of the last undefeated teams in the CSRA continues to chase their first state title since 2006.
The Lincoln County Red Devils didn’t skip a beat in the first round of the playoffs.
Jonathan Norman showed everyone the speed on the quick pitch — so fast that he eluded the camera for half of the play.
The opening drive touchdown was just the beginning of a monster first half for Coach Lee Chomskis’ team.
Lakeside wins first playoff game against New Manchester
On Friday night, Lakeside secured a number 2 seed as they hosted a home playoff game for the first time since 2009.

Another Norman touchdown gave the Red Devils A 14-0 lead, but great offense is usually set up by great defense.
Charlton County looked to finally get on the board, but Nictavious Cain intercepted.
Four more touchdowns after that gave the Red Devils a massive 41-7 lead going into the half.
“We just gotta build on what we did tonight. We played well in that first half. I thought we executed well and we just gotta continue to do the things that we do and get better as a football team,” said Chomskis.
With a massive hole for the Indians to try and climb out of in the second half, Chomskis expected the game to move much faster but it one lasted nearly three hours.
“You know when you’re up 41-7 at halftime and they choose not to have a running clock that causes some issues and it’s hard to get your kids focused to continue to play at the same level that they did in the second half,” said Chomskis.
The Red Devils got back on the board just one time in the second half, but it was more than enough to seal the victory.
Lincoln County wins this one 49-20.
