Aiken YMCA, church deliver beds to kids in need
In Aiken County, volunteers came together at the YMCA on Saturday morning to help the community through the A Place to Dream Program.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is just one of the school’s service learning initiatives, called Heart Projects, teaching important social-emotional skills and helping the school’s students understand the impact they can have in their community.
“Our Heart Projects, like Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, teach students about the challenges of children, much like themselves, in an age-appropriate way, while also helping them foster creativity, comion and important cognitive skills,” said Donna Whittaker, vice president of curriculum and education at Big Blue Marble Academy. “Most importantly, these projects help our young learners feel empowered to make a difference in their world at any age.”
Collectively, BBMA locations across the country raised a total of $36,736.33 for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
