Official move-in date set for brand-new Belair Middle School
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Richmond County School System announced on Tuesday the official opening date for the new Belair Middle School building for the first week of January.
The new school, located at 150 Potential Way, will welcome students and families to the new facility on Jan. 6.
Copeland Elementary students learn about careers at annual fair
Copeland Elementary hosts the second annual career fair for students to educate them about various career paths Tuesday.

Here’s a timetable:
- Dec. 19-20: Belair Middle School students will observe a Learn from Home day while staff move into the new building.
- Winter break (Dec. 23 to Jan. 2): All of the district’s schools and offices will be closed.
- Jan. 3: Belair Middle School will host an open house from 4-6 p.m.
- Jan. 6: All schools in the district return from winter break, and the new Belair Middle School will open at the new facility.
Students will have the same class schedules, teachers and bus routes.
Big Blue Marble Academy students raise more than $1,000 to fight childhood cancer
Augusta’s Big Blue Marble Academy students have raised a total of $1,036.64 for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s research and initiatives for children fighting cancer.

Last week, the Richmond County Schools Building Committee walked through the new school after the opening date was pushed back due to Hurricane Helene causing minor damage.
