Ga. forestry agency offers help for many affected by Helene
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Emergency assistance for landowners impacted by Hurricane Helene is being rolled out by the Georgia Forestry Commission.
Aid includes $25 million for debris cleanup and firebreak installation in Burke, Columbia, Emanuel, Glascock, Hancock, Jefferson, Jenkins, Lincoln, McDuffie, Richmond, Screven, Taliaferro, Warren, Washington and Wilkes counties.
Crews close roads to clear storm debris in Aiken, Columbia counties
Starting Tuesday, several roads will be closed due to crews taking away storm debris in Aiken and Columbia counties.

Two programs are available:
- The Fuels Mitigation Program, for landowners with 10 or more acres of forestland damaged by Helene. is available through Dec. 6. Apply here: Hurricane Helene Fuel Mitigation Program | Georgia Forestry Commission.
