AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A 19-year-old has been arrested in connection to a shooting that injured 2 people in March.

According to Richmond County jail bookings, Javon Ernest Doe was arrested on Thursday.

Doe is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, cruelty to children in the first degree, criminal damage to property in the first degree and possession of a firearm during a crime, according to jail bookings.

50-year-old shot dead in his home on Highland Avenue

A man was killed in an early morning shooting on Highland Avenue on Thursday, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

50-year-old man shot dead in his home in the 500 block of Highland Avenue.

The incident happened on March 9 around 11:30 p.m. on the 3000 block of Barbara Road, according to deputies.

The victim said Doe broke her mother’s television, leading to a physical altercation. At some point during the altercation, Doe started firing a gun, deputies reported.

One person was stuck in the mouth and another was struck in the buttocks before Doe fled, according to authorities.
